In Madrid, the municipal police arrested a man in the Puente de Vallecas district who is known by the nickname Oil. He carries an arrest warrant issued for murder and traffic safety offenses allegedly carried out in the town of Seseña, Toledo.
Officials say the arrest happened at around 6:00 p.m. last Sunday. The incident began on Sierra de Meira Street in the Numancia neighborhood when officers spotted a car halted on the sidewalk and requested a tow truck to move it.
As the vehicle was being prepared for removal, a man stepped forward claiming to be the owner. During questioning, officers identified him as el Gordo, a 24-year-old individual with an outstanding arrest warrant from the Toledo Civil Guard for alleged murder and security offenses allegedly connected to the state.
Investigative sources later confirmed to EFE that the individual was Francisco el Gordo Maya, a known member of the criminal gang goyito. The group is described as engaging in a pattern of criminal activity that includes breaking into businesses by driving vehicles into shopfronts to access and loot stores.
The Toledo Civil Guard Judicial Police team continues the inquiry into these events. The Seseña court of inquiry number 2 has ordered proceedings under a regime of summary confidentiality.
The court order was active from October 5 to October 10, and the individual was subsequently arrested and transported to the Puente de Vallecas National Police Station for processing.
Earlier in October 2021, the same individual was involved in multiple arrests with a friend known as el Goyito for allegedly carrying out 52 workplace robberies within a span of three months. They were later released after being referred to the courthouse for disposition.
Approximately one month after that, the man was arrested in connection with an alleged stabbing of a vehicle driver on Meneses Street following a traffic dispute in the Arganzuela district of Madrid.
On July 14, the individual, referred to as El Gordo Maya, was shot and wounded in the middle of a Madrid street in a neighborhood referred to locally as Linear City.
