In Madrid, the municipal police reported the arrest of a 36-year-old man on suspicions of assaulting and threatening his girlfriend. The incident unfolded in the Ciudad Lineal district, where authorities were alerted to a pattern of abusive conduct that had persisted over time.
According to communications from the police, the emergency number 092 received a desperate call around 8:00 p.m. last Sunday, with the victim recounting that she had been assaulted and threatened with a firearm by her partner. The appeal prompted a rapid response from the Ciudad Lineal Area Comprehensive Unit, which headed to the residence on Calle Virgen de la Fuensanta. Upon arrival, the woman opened the door and described a history of regular mistreatment by the person she identified as her boyfriend, detailing multiple episodes of violence that had occurred at home for about a year.
During the encounter, the victim reported a fresh beating the previous day and again described threats involving a long gun. She asserted that leaving the apartment would trigger further retaliation if she pursued reporting the abuse. This prompted an immediate professional assessment to be arranged on site to ensure the victim could receive appropriate care and documentation of injuries.
The authorities confirmed the victim’s formal statement and observed visible injuries consistent with her account. Medical personnel from Samur-Civil Protection were summoned to examine and document the injuries, reinforcing the need for a thorough medical record as part of the investigation.
In his interview with the officers, the alleged aggressor admitted his involvement in the incident and indicated a pattern of substance use. Law enforcement subsequently conducted a search related to narcotics, locating marijuana in the suspect’s vehicle. As a result, the individual faced administrative reporting in addition to the criminal charge stemming from gender-based violence. The firearm believed to have been used in the threats was confiscated, and police proceeded with the formal arrest, marking the case as a gender-based violence investigation with ongoing proceedings.
