Madrid Park Incident: Authorities Intercept Weapons and Detain Suspects

According to the National Police High Headquarters in Madrid, the events unfolded Saturday night when officers were dispatched after a reported clash in Salvador Allende Park, a central square in the capital.

Upon arrival, the assailants attempted to flee and discard their weapons. They concealed firearms under vehicles, and in a further attempt to evade capture, some threw items onto subway tracks. The suspects were eventually apprehended, and a collection of tools and weapons surfaced among their belongings, including machetes, knives, screwdrivers, and a hood used to obscure one offender’s face.

Eight detainees possess prior criminal histories, including robberies, assaults, and public disturbances, in addition to several restraining orders, one of which involved a minor. All individuals are facing charges for illegal possession of weapons, serious threats, and related penalties while in detention awaiting resolution of their cases.
