National Police officers detained two individuals in connection with a violent incident that left a man injured and his cash stolen. A spokesperson for Madrid’s Superior Police Headquarters confirmed to Europa Press that approximately 6,000 euros in cash were taken after the attack.
The incident occurred on July 30 in Madrid’s Puente de Vallecas district. The victim was confronted by two hooded suspects who assaulted him, knocking him to the ground. Allegedly, the criminals had lured him with a promise to purchase a car engine through a popular second-hand app.
When the man arrived with the money, he agreed to the sale. The assailants struck him in the face with a fire extinguisher, fled with a backpack containing cash and a gold necklace, and escaped the scene in a vehicle.
Following the attack, investigators traced and located the two suspects. They were arrested yesterday on charges of violent theft and subsequently brought before the courthouse for further proceedings.
