Lipetsk Residents Return Home After Drone Attack Update

Residents Return Home After Lipetsk Drone Incident, Evacuation Update

Residents of the Lipetsk municipality who were evacuated following the night attack by Ukrainian drones are set to return to their homes. The information came through a Telegram channel reporting to the regional government.

The update followed a visit by Governor Igor Artamonov to the temporary accommodation facility in the village of Koptsevy Khutor near Lipetsk.

Officials stated that citizens are being fed and housed securely, and that transportation arrangements have been made to bring people back to their residences.

During the night of August 9, Lipetsk faced a large-scale drone attack. The air defense forces intercepted the payloads, and the governor later noted that the explosions occurred away from residential districts. Emergency services were on the scene, and one UAV crash damaged an energy infrastructure facility, leading to power supply interruptions.

An emergency regime was declared within the region as a precaution and response measure.

The Lipetsk regional administration also urged residents not to share photos of the strike’s aftermath on social media to prevent misinformation and aid recovery efforts.

Earlier, the region’s red threat level had been cancelled, according to official statements.

This report summarizes the situation based on updates from the regional government press service and related authorities, documenting the steps taken to ensure safety, relief, and a swift return to normal life for residents.
