Lipetsk Pensioner Dies After Flammable Liquid Fire Incident

In Lipetsk, a pensioner suffered fatal burns after accidentally spilling a flammable liquid on herself, according to information from the Lipetsk region press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia via GOROD48.

The incident began when a 66-year-old woman was preparing breakfast at home. She carried a bottle of flammable liquid while standing near the stove. At a certain moment the liquid spilled, the substance ignited, and the woman caught fire. The burns were severe and life-threatening.

Emergency medical services were immediately called, and the woman was taken to hospital for urgent treatment. Despite medical care, she died in the morning after being admitted to the hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

Law enforcement officers are examining all aspects of the event to determine the full sequence of actions and the factors that led to the fire and the resulting death.

Earlier, in Yakutsk, medical teams managed to save a child who nearly burned to death while playing in a garden. The child required multiple transplant procedures and extensive rehabilitation to relearn basic movements and regain mobility.
