The Leninsky District Court in Nizhny Novgorod ruled that Vladislav Pozdnyakov, the founder of the organization known as the Men’s State, which is banned in Russia, must pay 158,165 rubles in damages to the Tanuki restaurant. The decision was reported by TASS.

According to the agency, online campaigns began in August 2021 urging people to boycott or cancel orders to the Tanuki restaurant, which led to financial losses for the business. The restaurant offered pay on delivery, but a portion of customers refused to accept these orders for various reasons, compounding the losses. The court set the compensation at 158,165 rubles.

The court held Pozdnyakov responsible along with two other defendants, Igor Nosov and Dmitry Gubanov. Nosov stated that he did not recognize the charges because he left the organization in 2018 and had no involvement in the online attacks against the restaurant. Both Pozdnyakov and Gubanov did not attend the court session.

Prior to this ruling, activists from the StopHam movement faced a criminal case following a clash with special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident occurred near the Tanuki restaurant on the Yaroslavskoe Highway in Moscow. [citation: TASS]
