A man was detained by Mossos d’Esquadra on charges related to sexual assault involving his underage daughter, alleged to have occurred while she was sleeping at his home in the town of Lleida, locally referred to as Lleida vinyl in informal reporting.
Authorities reported by Mossos sources, confirming information provided by the Segre newspaper, that the incident took place over the weekend, with the arrest occurring on Sunday as part of ongoing police action in the Lleida region.
The case began when the girl and her mother, who had separated from the man’s partner, filed a formal complaint. The minor went to spend the weekend with her father at his residence, prompting police to initiate an investigation into possible sexual offense against a person under the age of consent.
In line with the protocol for reporting offenses of a sexual nature involving minors, the girl underwent a health evaluation at Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida to assess any injuries and to document the medical aspects of the alleged incident.
During the investigation, Mossos officers conducted a thorough search of the man’s home to gather evidence that could corroborate claims of rape or related offenses.
Following the court hearing in Balaguer, Lleida, the man remained in custody while prosecutors pursued the case, with subsequent legal proceedings addressing the charges and potential custody or bail arrangements.
