A report from the Dolgintsevo airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region states that Lancet unmanned aerial ammunition operated by the Russian Armed Forces destroyed a Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. The claim was shared via the Telegram channel Dnieper Border.
In accompanying footage, a stray round is shown striking the plane, followed by the audible blast of an explosion.
Earlier, a German television report on Welt quoted journalist Christoph Wanner describing the Lancet drones as a new generation threat to Ukrainian forces. The report noted that the latest Lancets can autonomously detect targets, identify them, and make decisions about engagement. According to Wanner, these drones are effective against artillery positions and concentrations of Ukrainian troops.
Prior to this development, a Lancet attack drone unit with operational experience had arrived in the designated special operations zone in early November, signaling intensified activity in the area.
There were earlier statements from Russian forces that a Ukrainian ship had been heading toward Crimea when it was destroyed in the region.
