Kursk Region Updates on Security Incidents and Air Defense Activity

Reports from the Kursk region indicate that an air defense unit is active in the area. The telegram channel of the regional governor, Roman Starovoyt, notes ongoing security measures in Kursk.

According to a statement from the governor’s office, a Ukrainian drone reportedly crashed within the vicinity of an oil storage facility, causing a fire. Fire crews and emergency responders were dispatched to the site to manage the incident and prevent further spread.

Earlier, the governor had warned about potential missile danger affecting Kursk, underscoring a heightened security situation in the region.

On a separate day, an unmanned aerial vehicle associated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine was reportedly intercepted by local air defense systems, preventing further incursions into the area.

On the same day, following the shoot-down of the Ukrainian drone, medical facilities in Kursk reported disruptions to admissions at Clinic No. 6 as a precaution while investigations continued.

Another development cited by regional authorities described damage to several private residences and a local power line in the village of Tetkino, attributed to Ukrainian forces’ activity in the vicinity.

There have been prior reports of Ukrainian UAV activity being detected and addressed in the broader Leningrad region, with assessments noting air defense responses in place to counter such incursions. [Citations: Governor’s office statements; regional security briefings]”
