Over the past day, units of the Russian armed forces reported repelling four Ukrainian assault attempts in the Kupyansk direction. The information comes from a report published in the official gazette of the Russian Defence Ministry and disseminated via its telegram channel.

According to the ministry, the attacks were mounted by formations of the Ukrainian 30th and 32nd mechanized corps. Ukrainian troops also involved the 25th Airborne Brigade in the assault on Russian positions, but those efforts did not achieve their objectives.

From the ministry’s account, in the Kupyansk direction, the group of forces referred to as “West” conducted air strikes and artillery bombardments which were used to repulse four separate offensive actions in the areas of Sinkovka in the Kharkov region and Terny in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

As a result of the engagements, Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered around 30 personnel casualties in this sector. In addition, two armored fighting vehicles and an M777 artillery system were said to have been destroyed. The Russian side also claimed the destruction of three Ukrainian vehicles and a Krab self-propelled howitzer, a piece of equipment produced in Poland.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities had suggested that the coming months would be highly challenging for Kyiv as hostilities continued and the front line remained fluid.
