Konstantin Yaroshenko, the Russian pilot who spent more than a decade in a United States prison and returned home last year, has taken on a new role as the deputy general manager at Zhukovsky Airport in the Moscow region.
In this capacity, Yaroshenko serves as the Deputy Director General for coordination with state regulatory authorities, a position he describes as central to the airport’s operations.
The allure of aviation remains strong for him, he notes, and the sky continues to call.
Vladimir Putin publicly acknowledged Pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, underscoring a high-level interest in the case and in his career trajectory.
Yaroshenko, who was sentenced in 2011 in the United States to 20 years for drug trafficking, returned to Russia on April 27, 2022 as part of a prisoner exchange. He has since reflected on the difficulties of carrying personal belongings and documents he wished to bring home for the trial.”
