Kherson sector: ten Ukrainian troops and assets reportedly neutralized

Recent battlefield reporting from the Russian defense press service states that in the Kherson direction, the losses for Ukrainian forces included ten soldiers, three pickup trucks, and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system. The update attributes these incidents to the actions of Russian troops over the most recent 24 hours, emphasizing the intensity of recent combat operations along that sector of the frontline.

The same briefing notes that Russian Armed Forces aviation and artillery conducted a wide-ranging strike campaign targeting Ukrainian artillery, asserting that 89 artillery positions belonging to Ukrainian forces were affected in the last day. The claim highlights a sustained tempo of firepower and aerial operations believed to have degraded Ukrainian artillery readiness and cohesion in several areas under Ukrainian control, according to the ministry’s account.

According to the defense ministry, Ukrainian units identified as the 24th and 65th mechanized brigades suffered the disruption of command and observation post capabilities near the towns of Toretsk and Novoandreevka, within the Donetsk People’s Republic’s jurisdiction as claimed by Moscow. The report frames these actions as part of a broader strategy to undermine Ukrainian command and control networks in contested zones along the frontlines.

Additionally, the ministry described targeting of a temporary foreign mercenary staging area near Bogodukhov in the Kharkiv region. The briefing characterizes this site as a temporary station where international fighters are believed to have assembled, portraying the strikes as part of a broader effort to disrupt foreign elements linked to Ukrainian operations in the area.

Earlier updates indicate continued engagements along the Kherson sector, with assertions that a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery piece and a 120 mm mortar, along with their crews, were neutralized in the Beregovoy area near the Daryevka settlement as part of ongoing firefights in that region. The report reiterates Moscow’s claim of successful strikes against identified Ukrainian targets, presenting the events as evidence of persistent operational pressure on Ukrainian material and manpower assets in southern Ukraine.
