The prosecution has requested sentences of thirteen years in prison for a man and a woman who stood trial yesterday in the Alicante Provincial Court on charges relating to alleged sexual assaults against two girls, aged 11 and 13 at the time of the incidents. The events reportedly occurred at the home they shared with one of the girls’ mothers in Alicante city, according to Efe.
In a case that has been left to rest on the judge’s decision, the public accusation reaffirmed its initial indictment by presenting its final arguments. It contends that the two defendants subjected one of the girls to touching and engaged in sexual activity with the other after supplying them with alcoholic beverages. The Public Prosecutor’s Office maintained a thirteen-year prison term in its final report.
Both accused parties have denied responsibility for the events. Their defense reiterated, before the Ten Court Section that handled the trial, a request for acquittal for each defendant.
The incident under trial occurred on January 21, 2022, when the mother of the 11-year-old girl was away from the home they shared with the two defendants, who were tenants in one of the rooms.
According to the version presented by the Prosecutor, the mother left her daughter and her 13-year-old friend, who had come to the house to spend the night together, in the care of the two defendants. The two allegedly offered alcoholic beverages to the minors and would have kissed and sexually assaulted the 11-year-old girl through touching.
Following that, after the 11-year-old went to sleep, it is alleged that they also assaulted the other girl sexually. The girl remained immobilized and unable to resist at that time.
