Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant stated that the military operation in the Gaza Strip will extend over a lengthy period. This update was conveyed by TASS.
He emphasized, “This war will not end quickly. It is a long war. Patience will be required, along with substantial emotional resilience from every individual, community, and leadership level.”
Galant added that the operation in Gaza will demand the steadfast resolve of Israel’s security forces.
In a prior remark, Galant said the Israeli Armed Forces would deliver an unprecedented response to the Gaza Strip that would be remembered for decades. He asserted that the local reality would shift for generations to come.
On 7 October, Hamas forces fired thousands of rockets into Israel and announced the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Militant groups reportedly crossed into Israeli territory, seized military equipment, and captured more than a hundred hostages. In this context, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the nation was at war.
Earlier, Netanyahu identified the targets Israel is at war with Hamas as the principal adversary in this confrontation.
