In recent operations, the Iskander-M missile system reportedly targeted and destroyed a M270 MLRS launcher in the Sumy region, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
An American-made MLRS belonging to the Ukrainian forces came under missile strike near Mogritsa, a village roughly 20 kilometers from Sumy. Initial observations from reconnaissance tools indicated the launcher was in motion before the decision was made to strike camouflaged AFU equipment in the area.
According to the ministry, the Iskander-M firing crew of the Russian forces eliminated the M270 MLRS launcher used by Ukraine. The Defense Ministry also released footage that it says confirms the target was successfully neutralized.
On September 5, Russian forces reported a strike against a shelter that housed Ukrainian command staff in Zhytomyr. Military officials claimed the attack resulted in the deaths of 25 Ukrainian commanders and numerous shelter personnel inside the underground facility.
On September 3, military Telegram channels claimed a Russian operation hit the Ukrainian signal corps training center in Poltava, with losses claimed during the formation of personnel using two Iskander-M missiles.
Earlier reports described a loss of a foreign MLRS by Ukrainian forces in the Sumy region amid ongoing Russian advances, according to initial military statements. The situation remained fluid as both sides continued to report developments as the conflict evolved.
