The Irkutsk Kirovsky District Court opened the criminal case against the former general director and owner of Spetstransstroy LLC, alongside Yuri Reilyan, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Construction, who stands accused of siphoning a substantial sum. The report linking these events came from Kommersant.

Investigation records show that Reilyan, whose company served as a contractor for Russian Railways, faces charges of misappropriating more than 1.5 billion rubles in collaboration with other defendants in the case. Of this amount, roughly 900 million rubles were earmarked for the construction of a railway segment along the Baikal-Amur Main Line.

Reilyan filed a complaint with the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office. A team of attorneys and defense advocates are representing him, including one of his daughters, who are defending a client who maintains innocence.

The participants in the proceedings have not yet started reviewing the indictment materials because Reilyan and the other defendants were not present at the hearing. A source indicated that the absence is connected to an impending medical hospitalization for Reilyan.

As a result, the defendants disclosed details about their income, any chronic illnesses, dependents, and other personal information to the court. The judge subsequently approved a preliminary schedule for the forthcoming sessions of the case.

Earlier reports noted that Andrey Roschevsky, the head of the Judicial Department of the Rostov Region, was arrested in a bribery case, adding another dimension to the ongoing legal proceedings in the broader judiciary network.
