The head of the investigation department of the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office, Aleksey Kutsurubenko, announced that the investigation into the explosion at the Mariupol Drama Theater has identified the remains of 14 victims. The explosion itself was linked to devices placed within the Ukrainian Armed Forces building, as reported by DEA News.

During the ongoing inquiry, officials confirmed that the remains of 14 individuals were found within the ruins of the theater. No additional human remains were discovered, according to Kutsurubenko.

He also commented on the strong, unpleasant odor in the vicinity of the site, noting that a fish warehouse had been located in the basements. This facility had served as a food distribution point for local residents before the collapse.

According to Kutsurubenko, authorities have completed the removal of rubble and conducted thorough searches of all basements at the site.

The investigation indicates that most civilians had already left the Mariupol Drama Theater prior to the blast, and it was alleged that shooting points were set up in the building by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in connection with the ammunition explosion.

Earlier statements from the DPR Attorney General’s office asserted that the version of an air raid on the theater in Mariupol had been dismissed by the investigation.
