A 60-year-old resident of the Saratov region died while carrying out repair work on a car. This information comes from the press office of the Investigative Committee for the district investigation department.
The fatal incident happened on the morning of September 7, 2022, in the village of Ozinki, Ozinsky district, at the site of a stone, sand and clay extraction enterprise. During the repair, a gas cylinder connected to the vehicle discharged toward the man, and he was struck by the blast. He died at the hospital where he was transported for treatment.
Law enforcement officials indicated that the cause of the accident was a retaining ring that could be released after being struck with a sledgehammer. Forensic examination determined that the victim died due to suffocation.
An investigation has been opened into the incident.
Currently, a series of verification actions are underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the event. A procedural decision will be issued based on the results of these checks.
