A man sustained injuries in the Pskov region after an acquaintance opened fire, according to the press service of the regional courts.
The episode took place at the end of September but surfaced to the public only recently. Law enforcement reported that a resident, who had been drinking, seized a shotgun from a barn and headed toward the victim’s residence. The two men had a history of frequent verbal confrontations, which had bred personal hostility over time.
Upon arriving at the location, the Russian national fired at the acquaintance, resulting in a gunshot wound to the left groin. The assailant, however, fled the scene.
Officials noted that the victim received prompt medical care at the scene and was subsequently transported for treatment.
The investigation moved quickly once the incident was reported. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect, and a criminal case was opened. He pled guilty to the shooting, and the court ordered indefinite detention for a two-month period while further proceedings unfold.
In related March coverage from St. Petersburg, a separate report described a man who was hospitalized after a dog bite caused injuries to his genitals. This prior incident was noted in the same press stream as part of ongoing regional safety and crime reporting.
