Inditex is expanding Zara Second Hand, the brand’s second‑hand platform, with clothing repairs and donation options. The rollout will reach 14 new European markets, including Spain, starting December 12.
Through this initiative, Zara customers will have access to circular services such as repairs, peer-to-peer resale from closets, and donations via Zara.com, its mobile app, and Zara stores.
Zara Second Hand has already been available in the United Kingdom for a year and in France since last September. It forms part of the Inditex Group’s sustainability commitments for the coming years.
With the launch in Spain and additional markets—Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal—Inditex is advancing its plan to introduce circularity services in its key markets in 2025.
Starting December 12, Zara.com will feature a main menu option for Second Hand alongside women’s, men’s, children’s, and beauty categories.
Users will be able to access services for repairing second-hand Zara garments with seasonal options, including button and zipper replacements and seam repairs.
Customers can complete transactions entirely online or at the chosen Zara store, with repairs carried out by local suppliers.
Similarly, Zara Second Hand provides a safe environment for customers to sell Zara items from selected collections.
The sales area is organized by product categories and includes detailed product information, original garment details from Zara, and up-to-date images supplied by the seller.
Additionally, customers can request home collection of used clothing to be donated to non-profit organizations, with sorting to enable reuse where possible and recycling when needed, supporting local community projects. This service accepts products from all brands.
According to the firm, the new platform is a pillar of Inditex Group’s sustainable development strategy and a priority in building a more sustainable value chain.
