In St. Petersburg, a 27-year-old man who was intoxicated assaulted an ambulance driver who would not allow him to enter the vehicle. This incident was reported by regional law enforcement authorities and is being investigated by the local police department.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region provided details that the event took place on June 12 in the courtyard of building 50 on Tverskaya Street. A report arrived indicating that an unidentified individual had assaulted the ambulance crew at that location.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and identified the suspect as a 27-year-old unemployed man from the same neighborhood who appeared to be intoxicated. The man was believed to have tried to accompany the ambulance crew into the cabin, and the driver refused access, leading to a confrontation and the subsequent detention of the suspect on suspicion of assault.
The detained individual was transported to a police station where an administrative offense case concerning hooliganism was opened, in line with the applicable legal provisions. The 59-year-old driver sustained bruises and sought medical attention, later being released in satisfactory condition.
Earlier information indicated a separate incident in which doctors were called to attend to a person living with the accused, and an ambulance was reportedly taken in that previous episode. This prior matter is noted as part of ongoing inquiries by authorities.
