In a wooden cottage within the Leningrad region, a group of children were engaged in a game that included a makeshift bow. During the play, an accident occurred when one boy was struck in the leg, an event first reported by KP.ru citing a law enforcement source.
The incident took place on June 13, 2022. A man who called emergency services described that an 11-year-old boy had been hit in the leg by an arrow while playing near the summer residence.
Initial findings suggested the victim and a friend were using a plastic spring-equipped device for their game. An arrow, however, went off its intended trajectory and struck a nearby boy, causing the injury.
The wounded child was transported to a hospital for treatment. As of now, there are no public updates on the boy’s condition.
Law enforcement officers who responded to the scene collected the bow and arrows for forensic examination. The investigation remains active, with authorities weighing whether to initiate a criminal case.
Earlier reporting noted a separate incident in the United States in which a two-year-old accidentally shot his father, highlighting ongoing concerns about toy weapons and child safety across regions.
