In a January incident in the Leningrad region, a resident seized a man’s mobile phone and the keys to his apartment using an axe. This event was reported by 47 news.
The confrontation unfolded on January 11 in a high-rise building along Severnaya Street in Kirovsk. Guests were staying in one of the flats when a 32-year-old visitor arrived after being invited by a neighbor. The guest, identified as Cemal, suddenly produced an axe and demanded the victim’s mobile phone. The assault swiftly ended with the phone and a house key set being taken, leaving an estimated monetary loss of 10,000 rubles for the victim.
Authorities have since released information that the suspect, a 39-year-old local man, is currently on a wanted list. Reports indicate he lives near the crime scene and has a prior criminal history. He faced theft charges in the early 2000s and was detained on robbery accusations in the summer of 2023, subsequently released on his own recognizance awaiting further proceedings.
Earlier accounts described a separate, previously unknown attack on a retiree carried out for robbery, though the intruder did not locate anything of value inside the home.
