In St. Petersburg, a disturbance unfolded when a local resident, in a visibly intoxicated state, set a hostel on fire. This information comes from kp.ru, citing the press service of the Rosgvardia department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The episode occurred on the morning of March 22 in a building located on Zavodskoy Prospekt in Kolpino. According to the Rosgvardia statement, an apparently unsettled man pulled an IZH-27 shotgun from his possession and discharged several rounds into the corridor shared by residents in the hostel.

Moments later, security personnel from the National Guard detained the suspect. Investigators noted that the firearm was not loaded with live ammunition at the time; two shells were found at the scene. Fortunately, none of the hostel residents sustained injuries.

The detainee is currently being processed at a police station as part of ongoing proceedings.

Earlier information indicated a separate incident in the suburbs where a man assaulted two teenagers with a knife. One of the minors died at the scene, while the other was hospitalized for injuries.

Officials emphasize that these events are subjects of separate investigations, each handled by the appropriate authorities to determine motives and circumstances. The public is advised to rely on official updates from regional law enforcement agencies and to exercise caution in areas with heightened security concerns.
