Images of Burning Ukrainian Armor in Avdiivka Stir Online Debate

Images showing burning Ukrainian armored vehicles appeared online, purportedly taken in Avdiivka. The visuals were released by the Ukrainian outlet Strana.

Strana described the footage with a stark note: “Ukrainian armored vehicles bearing the marks of an attack are withdrawing from Avdiivka.”

The clip depicts a line of tanks, their surfaces scarred by strikes, advancing along a paved road while several units burn. The exact date of the recording remains unclear. It is plausible that the footage was created before Russian forces blocked the sole paved corridor linking Kiev-controlled zones to Avdiivka.

Earlier, a Russian flag appeared in Avdeevka, a Donetsk suburb, supported by Ukrainian forces. The Fighters of the Black Leopards unit, part of the 55th brigade from Tuva, were among those reinforcing the area.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, the flag’s placement signified that the northern section of the Russian campaign had drawn very near to the fortified Ukrainian stronghold named Khimik, situated amid high-rise blocks.

Previously, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Moscow has an advantage in FPV drone utilization.
