Igor Postolache’s conduct is examined through police records and journalistic investigations, focusing on harassment of several girls and the 2019 death of a 14-year-old neighbor named Erika. Reports show multiple victims described troubling encounters that were recorded but seldom led to formal charges. Investigative outlets and CASO ABIERTO explored how these events unfolded and what authorities noted about the suspect’s behavior over time.

stuck on a girl

The first notable incident occurred on December 7, 2018, when an off-duty police officer drove along Galicia Avenue in Oviedo and saw a man approach a possibly underage girl. The officer watched closely, sensing danger as the encounter unfolded.

Plainclothes officers later described the man as increasingly intrusive toward the young woman. The officer intervened, parking the car and engaging the man near the top of Cervantes Street, asking for his identity. He identified himself as Igor Postolache, supplied his details, and moved on.

a lonely girl

A separate episode, noted in the files but not pursued as a case, occurred on August 5, 2019, in Oviedo. A girl stood at the gates of Navarro Optics on Uría Street when Postolache approached, harassing and pressing her in a way that raised safety concerns.

The girl’s mother confronted the man while at work nearby. Police were alerted, and a patrol car arrived to request identification. Postolache complied and was released. Police sources described the behavior as unacceptable and troubling, yet there was no charge beyond identification at that time.

four complaints

Multiple girls later reported encounters with Postolache, forming a pattern that judges and prosecutors examined. He was initially acquitted of threats but later convicted of minor coercion after harassing four teenagers between May and August 2019.

On May 1, 2019, near a Uría Street bus stop where a girl waited, Postolache approached with the line, “you’re beautiful, I like you so much, do you want to come with me?” The girl ignored him and he left.

On August 20, 2019, around nine in the evening near Uría Street, he approached another young woman and asked, “Do you believe in destiny? Have men disappointed you all your life?” before touching her face, saying, “You are great,” and then stepping back.

On August 30, 2019, still on Uría Street, he approached another young woman under the pretext of asking questions. She said, “I get confused when I see you,” and “I get angry when I look at you.”

a bag on his head

At one point, Postolache allegedly directed a girl to place a plastic bag over her head during a threatening exchange. He denied making such statements, claiming he only wanted to speak with the girl and was acquitted of the threat charge.

Another August incident involved a bus journey from Oviedo to Soto de Trubia, where he started talking to a girl, took her hand, and tried to pull her closer. She left the bus, and later another encounter occurred on Uría Street, where she asked for his phone number. Bystanders intervened, and the group managed to remove him from the area.

The court later fined him €480 for minor coercion, a penalty reduced to €240 on appeal by the Oviedo Court. The defense challenged the amount, but the court maintained the reduction.

At the hospital

Postolache remained hospitalized after a confrontation that preceded Erika’s death, during which he harmed himself as police arrived. A judge subsequently charged him with murder and attempted sexual assault, ordering continued detention as the case progressed.

He has not provided explanations or testified about Erika’s death. Investigators found no active clues on her social profiles; a legacy account on a social platform carried the remark, “No one is perfect.”
