More than 48% of Russians report higher stress levels and are continually seeking ways to cope, with many viewing sleep and holidays as the top remedies for stress. Researchers from AlfaStrakhovanie gathered these insights in a survey, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

Sleep appears to be the universal fix for stress for 62% of participants. Meanwhile, 53% say they need at least 12 hours of rest to shake off anxiety and fatigue. Another 22% believe eight hours are enough, noting that in daily life they rarely enjoy more than six hours of sleep.

Vacation is endorsed by 59% as a remedy. Seventeen percent indicate that planning a trip helps them cope, and 9% feel that a spontaneous short vacation can be effective. In total, more than half view time away as a meaningful stress reliever.

Social activities are frequently chosen as stress relief: 37% favor meeting friends, 21% head to the cinema or go shopping, and 13% turn to comforting food or sweets. A smaller share, 12%, would seek help from a professional when pressure mounts, while 5% consider sedatives as an option.

Nearly half of participants aim to avoid letting the situation intensify. About 15% take vacations two to three times a year and use weekends to reset when fatigue and nerves run high. Vitamin supplements for the nervous system are used by 23%, though only 9% see them as stabilizing. Forty-seven percent admit to feeling nervous about something on a regular basis, while only 3% report no worries at all.

Experts emphasize practical steps to reduce stress after exposure to pressure, including balanced routines, mindful breaks, and timely professional guidance when needed. The study underscores a common reality: people turn to sleep, leisure, social ties, and small daily habits to regain composure and restore a sense of control amid demanding circumstances. It is important to consider personal health needs and seek qualified advice when stress becomes persistent or overwhelming. [Source: AlfaStrakhovanie survey reported via socialbites.ca].
