A fatal house fire occurred in Vilalba, Lugo, resulting in a total collapse of the home’s roof and walls as flames raged through the structure. The incident was documented in the daily balance provided by Emergency Situations on the relevant Sunday.
The blaze originated at Sixto’s residence, at approximately eight in the evening on a Saturday. Neighbors and witnesses alerted authorities as smoke and flames rapidly filled the building, drawing immediate attention from local responders.
At the moment the emergency began, Civil Guard officers together with several private witnesses contacted 112 Galicia to report the fire. This triggered a coordinated response from regional emergency services.
Following the initial call, the Integrative Emergency Care Center for 112 Galicia in Vilalba coordinated with Firefighters and members of the Municipal Civil Protection Agency to control the blaze. The incident also involved the Galicia Health Emergencies service, known as 061, to monitor any potential injuries and ensure medical readiness.
In addition, a woodland checkpoint in the area was deployed to assess whether the fire had spread toward nearby forested terrain. Officials confirmed that forestland safety measures were needed and that the fire remained contained to the residential area, allowing for a focused firefighting effort and preventive measures for the surrounding landscape.
