New data on the daily intake of salt, sugar, and trans fat will be added to the Honest Sign system. The coverage mentions this initiative in a News section.

The social movement Norm Motive brought this proposal to the attention of Rospotrebnadzor. By scanning a product’s QR code, consumers in Russia will learn not only the salt, sugar, and trans fat ratios per 100 grams but also see a color indicator showing how the product lines up with daily norms. The indicator uses green for within the recommended level, orange when the amount exceeds the norm, and red if the level is particularly high.

The goal of this measure is to safeguard public health and reduce the incidence of noncommunicable diseases. It is noted that more than 60 percent of shoppers consider labeling when choosing items.

Previously, there were discussions about products for which consumption should be increased among women.

A question arose about which fruit contains the highest amount of healthy fats.

In this context, the program underscores how transparency in labeling can empower consumers to make better dietary choices and support public health outcomes. Experts emphasize the importance of clear nutrition information to help people manage intake of harmful components and to promote healthier eating patterns across the population. The initiative also highlights the potential role of consumer education in driving demand for products that align with nutritional guidelines, thereby encouraging manufacturers to reformulate items to reduce salt, sugar, and trans fats while maintaining taste and affordability. The broader aim is to create a simpler, more actionable standard for everyday shopping and to reinforce responsible consumption habits across diverse communities. This approach aligns with ongoing public health campaigns that stress practical steps families can take to improve dietary quality over time and to decrease the burden of diet-related diseases.
