A student faced harassment from a roommate at an infectious disease center in northwest Moscow. This account is shared by the student in a report to mk.ru.
According to the 19-year-old victim, her new neighbor, a 25-year-old man from Uzbekistan, moved into her room on May 23 and began harassing her that very night. The student described that the man touched her intimate areas, bit her, and recorded the events on her phone without her consent.
The situation persisted for several minutes. The young woman did not retaliate or interrupt him; she tried to pretend she was asleep as a survival tactic. When morning arrived, she handed a note to a nurse requesting that police be notified and that she be moved to another block for safety.
The alleged aggressor was detained, and a criminal case was opened on charges of sexual assault.
There was a prior incident in which a foreign visitor reportedly attempted to harass a Russian woman in the street, but he denied the accusation at the time.
