Guillermo Lasso, the former president of Ecuador, indicated this Monday that he will not run as a CREO party candidate in the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for February 9, 2025. He urged the party to back a younger aspirant, noting that CREO is in a phase of reinvention. In the National Assembly, the goal is to set the stage for the next elections by bringing in new politicians and young people who want to build a fairer and more equitable country for all. He expressed a firm belief in political alternation and hopes that more men, women, and young people will join CREO so that some day they can become prominent mayors, prefects, or even presidents.
