Russia has moved ahead with the mass production of the Gran electronic reconnaissance (ER) complex, according to a report cited by the newspaper News, drawing on information from the Loktar volunteer project team.
Officials describe Gran as the first device of its kind, designed to operate at a tactical level within a reconnaissance and attack framework. The makers say Gran will enable Russian units to accelerate the tempo of their electronic warfare operations. In practical terms, an operator is expected to analyze the radio environment within roughly ten minutes, identify targets, and relay their coordinates to the artillery command center for action.
Efficiency rises as more Gran units are deployed. When multiple complexes run in parallel, both the analysis and the data transmission processes quicken, creating a more seamless information flow on the battlefield. Gran is stated to function in concert with a tactical tablet or a mobile phone, providing a flexible control interface for operators in the field.
Earlier demonstrations involved the Suppression FPV drone system, which had been tested in related electronic warfare scenarios, highlighting an integrated approach to countering adversary communications and sensor networks.
There have been public remarks from Ukrainian military leadership about the advantages Russia holds in employing FPV drones, a point that contributes to the ongoing discussion about the evolving balance of capabilities in modern EW operations. Source attribution: News.
