During the bombardment in the Shebekinsky urban district, a civilian was killed. The regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov shared the update on his Telegram channel.
The tragedy unfolded in the village of Grafovka. According to the governor, a cannonball struck the courtyard of a residential building while a man was carrying out household tasks. He died at the scene, and his spouse along with his mother required medical attention for their injuries and shock.
As a result of the Grafovka attack, ten homes, ancillary buildings, and power lines sustained damage, disrupting daily life for families and the local network.
Governor Gladkov stated that energy engineers are working relentlessly to restore electricity for the public, prioritizing affected neighborhoods and critical facilities as repairs proceed.
The governor highlighted the heavy shelling experienced in the district, describing the past day as extremely difficult for residents and emergency responders who faced a high tempo of incidents and requests for support.
Earlier remarks attributed to Gladkov indicated a high level of shelling activity in the region, noting more than 300 arrivals per day from Ukrainian armed forces. He reported that Grafovorsky urban district endured 101 strikes, Shebekinsky district 116, and Volokonovsky district 23 were recorded in the daily tally.
