On April 15, Vestige Collection will reopen the doors of Son Vell, its distinctive hotel in Menorca, marking the start of a second season following its successful debut in June of the previous year.

Among the highlights for this year, and with a clear aim to elevate the guest experience, Vestige has partnered with two Spanish brands that share its values. Guests at Son Vell will now enjoy exclusive natural cosmetics amenities crafted for Vestige by Rowse, an organic cosmetics brand, available in every room. Guests seeking extra pampering can opt for facials and massages using 100% plant-based, toxin-free products developed by Rowse to nourish the skin in the most effective and healthy way possible.

For the first time this season, guests will also discover and purchase limited-edition apparel designed exclusively for Vestige by Malne, the luxury prêt-à-porter and haute couture house founded by Paloma Álvarez and Juanjo Máñez. The capsule collection uses natural fabrics like silk, inspired by Menorca and Vestige’s neutral color palette, and is crafted to echo the island’s traditions.

Positioned just 20 minutes from Ciutadella and 10 minutes from Cala Son Vell, the hotel sits in a premier spot for exploring Menorca or enjoying a serene stay on the 180-hectare estate, replete with manicured gardens and fruit trees.

The 33 rooms and suites sit within an original 18th-century manor house and restored agricultural buildings, preserving their historic charm. Guests have access to refined relaxation spaces, including a spectacular poolside bar, a massage room, and outdoor cinema, plus yoga and pilates areas. This season will also feature an outdoor gym and an additional pool in the style of a resort lagoon. Beyond the on-site amenities, Son Vell offers exclusive island experiences such as horseback riding, stargazing, picnics, cultural visits, water sports, and live performances.

Gastronomy

The Son Vell complex provides four distinct dining spaces to savor Menorca’s best—local produce sourced from land and sea delivered to the table. Two bars, including one beside the pool, serve light dishes and cocktails, while two restaurants, Sa Clarisa and Vermell, have earned recognition, with Vermell recently listed in Guide Repsol 2024.

Sa Clarisa is an al fresco day restaurant that celebrates authentic Mediterranean flavors, using only premium local ingredients. Its menu focuses on healthy, nourishing cuisine that remains delicious and accessible to varied diets.

Vermell offers a gourmet tasting journey. Chef Joan Bagur has crafted a menu inspired by Menorcan classics with touches from the Iberian Peninsula, Britain, and France, featuring à la carte dishes and curated tasting menus paired with selected wines.

Since opening in June 2023, Son Vell’s timeless beauty and Vestige’s unique hospitality concept have drawn regional and international media attention, placing Son Vell among the world’s leading hotels.

Several publications have honored the meticulous restoration process, which respected the estate’s identity by preserving arid stone, traditional limestone, original timber, and handcrafted clay elements. The British magazine Tatler named Son Vell among its 2024 list of the world’s 101 best hotels, praising the dining concept and the exceptional menorcan cuisine that emphasizes seasonal, locally sourced ingredients from its own restaurant Sa Clarisa.

The Wall Street Journal recently highlighted the Balearic Islands as a top travel destination for 2024, recommending Son Vell as a tranquil, luxurious base for exploring the island. The Times also included Son Vell in a guide showcasing 26 hotels that stand out for exclusivity, elegance, and serenity.

Historical and Cultural Heritage

Vestige’s hotels and private estates are one-of-a-kind properties set in emblematic locations, many of which are designated as cultural heritage sites. The collection aims to protect and celebrate historical and architectural legacies by offering luxury experiences in carefully curated spaces that harmonize with their natural surroundings.

Vestige Collection preserves the unique heritage of its properties. The restoration process combines historical rigor with modern rehabilitation techniques, using traditional building methods and local materials. Collaboration with regional artisans helps reintegrate each property into its community while preserving its architectural soul and reimagining the hotel or estate as an integral part of the locale.

Through these efforts, Vestige continues to spotlight Spain’s architectural patrimony and invites guests to immerse themselves in spaces where history and contemporary comfort coexist seamlessly.
