Gaza operations and humanitarian concerns reported by Red Crescent

The Israeli army opened fire on an ambulance operated by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the Gaza Strip, according to the organization’s statement shared on social media. Members of the crew were involved in the urgent transport of injured people when the incident occurred.

The Red Crescent confirmed that some paramedics were injured and noted that other personnel were assisting in moving additional injured individuals through Gaza, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by medical responders amid the conflict.

Earlier updates indicated that a number of foreign staff from Doctors Without Borders, commonly known as MSF, who had remained in Gaza despite earlier departures, were able to leave the area. Despite these departures, a significant portion of MSF personnel and their families, roughly three hundred people, remained within the Gaza Strip awaiting continued access to safety and humanitarian support.

MSF has repeatedly voiced concern about the perceived slow and insufficient response from international leaders to halt the violence in Gaza. In a statement posted on its official site, the organization criticized the non-binding ceasefire resolution adopted by the United Nations, arguing that it had not produced meaningful reductions in the violence or protection for civilians.

On November 1, reports indicated a further rocket attack near the Jebaliya refugee camp in the northern part of Gaza. The incident was part of a persistent pattern of shelling and bombardment affecting civilian populations and humanitarian facilities in the area.

Observers note that the region has faced severe disruption to essential services, with fuel shortages and damage to infrastructure hampering the ability of hospitals to operate at full capacity. Medical facilities have struggled to provide adequate care as the conflict continues to strain resources and safety for those seeking help.

Humanitarian organizations reiterate the need for guaranteed access to humanitarian corridors, safe passage for medical teams, and protection for civilians. The situation remains precarious as international actors assess ways to push for a ceasefire and a return to humanitarian norms amid ongoing hostilities.
