Gaviota Simbac, the Italian subsidiary of the Alicante-based awning and blinds company, received a notable honor from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy. It was recognized as the best Spanish company in Italy in the Post-Pandemic Results category. Based in the Alpine region and active in more than 45 countries, the firm is poised to finish the year with a turnover approaching 40 million euros, a figure that underpins the award.

According to Ricardo Giner, the managing director, who also hails from Alicante, Gaviota Italia has consistently aligned with the group’s philosophy. The company has driven growth through geographical expansion and product diversification. When combined with the Italian arm, the Gaviota Group’s 2022 turnover surpasses 200 million euros. The group’s export footprint now includes awnings, blinds, glass curtains, pergolas, outdoor furniture, and PVC window systems across more than 100 countries, a core pillar of its sustained success.

Two new business lines—outdoor furniture and glass curtains, along with pergolas and PVC windows—are identified as strategic drivers for future expansion. The group is also advancing initiatives in Horeca and Contract sectors as part of its growth strategy.

Gaviota’s headquarters are in Sax, and the company closed 2021 with a turnover of 156.3 million euros, up 45.4 percent from the previous year. A favorable rebound in construction activity, coupled with patio and terrace renovations in the post-pandemic period, helped triple turnover and reach a record profit of 15.7 million in the latest year. This momentum reflects continued progress under Ricardo Giner’s leadership.
