In a landscape where new jobs and profiles appear daily, the demand for skilled workers continues to grow. The Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of the Province of Alicante (FEMPA) responds by offering three free, formal education programs to address this skills gap for professionals in the installation and maintenance sector.
The courses described below are designed for active employees in the installation and maintenance industry. They began on 26 February, and the following information explains the access requirements and the completely free nature of these programs.
The training targets the installation sector and the broader field of related crafts.
Free course on photovoltaic solar installations in Alicante
The initial module covers installation and maintenance of photovoltaic facilities, providing a solid foundation for professionals in the sector. With energy decarbonization pushing renewables to the forefront, there is an urgent need for qualified workers. This course therefore aligns with current market demand and offers a strong professional pathway for participants seeking to specialize in a high-growth field.
Spain serves as a clear example of the promising outlook in this area. The Valencian Community hosts favorable climatic conditions for solar energy projects, and the program trains participants to master essential tools in a context where skilled labor is in high demand.
Two cohorts have been scheduled to accommodate high participation. The first cohort runs from 26 February to 4 October, with in-person classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The second cohort runs from 27 February to 3 October, with classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Official training is funded by the Generalitat Valenciana LABORA and the Ministry of Education, supporting the development of professional skills in photovoltaic installation and maintenance.
Free training of low voltage electrical installations
The FEMPA program on low voltage electrical installations focuses on installation and maintenance in residential, office, commercial, and industrial settings. Completing the course equips students with more tools to advance within the electricity sector.
Additionally, passing the program yields several professional accreditations that can improve job prospects: a Basic and Expert Professional Electrician Installer Card, a Professional Telecommunications Installer Card, and a Professional Construction Card for the Metal Industry (TPCM) in the electrical specialty. These credentials help professionals showcase their capabilities when applying for roles or bidding for projects.
The instructor emphasizes the importance of obtaining these qualifications along with the course. The program runs from 4 March to 5 December, includes a practical internship with a host company, and classes are held Monday through Friday from 15:30 to 21:30 at FEMPA, Calle Benijofar 4 – 6.
Official training funded by the Generalitat Valenciana LABORA and the Ministry of Education enables the attainment of the ELECTRICAL INSTALLER, BASIC AND EXPERT CATEGORY PROFESSIONAL CARDS and the A type TELECOMMUNICATIONS INSTALLER PROFESSIONAL CARD.
Free refrigerator course
The third course covers the Refrigeration Installer Card, which authorizes installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. This field is evolving toward greater environmental stewardship and a growing presence in both residential and industrial settings, creating steady demand for qualified technicians.
Instructors are seasoned professionals who highlight the region’s industrial activity and vibrant tourism sector, noting that employers frequently search for skilled technicians. Industry leaders praise these programs as essential for meeting labor needs, and the sector remains confident about career opportunities in refrigeration technologies.
Completion of the course yields the Professional Refrigeration Installer Card, the Fluorinated Gas Carrier Card for all loads, and the TPCM specialization in Plumbing and Air Conditioning. Larger companies in particular value these credentials and actively seek holders with these qualifications.
Official training funded by the Generalitat Valenciana LABORA and the Ministry of Education again enables participants to obtain the PROFESSIONAL REFRIGERATOR INSTALLER CARD and the FLUORINATED GAS CARRIER CARD FOR ANY LOAD.
