Fraudulent Examcheating Case in Alicante Involving a 39-Year-Old Moroccan National

A 39-year-old Moroccan man residing near Almeria faced a formal police condemnation after authorities uncovered his attempt to cheat during the theory exam for a driver’s license in Alicante. The Civil Guard reported the incident in line with this year’s reforms to the Traffic, Motor Vehicle Movement and Road Safety Law. As a result, the individual was barred from re-taking the exam for a period of six months.

Officials from the Civil Guard, the General Directorate of Security, and the Alicante Provincial Directorate of Traffic stated that the person was trying to obtain fraudulent authorization to operate motor vehicles. He showed a lack of basic traffic knowledge and road-safety understanding, a combination that could pose a serious risk to other road users. The authorities emphasized that keeping the public safe on streets and highways is a priority, and measures were taken to prevent any insecure situations arising from improper licensing.

In a coordinated effort, the Alicante Civil Guard Sub-Sector Traffic, Research and Analysis Group worked with the Provincial Directorate staff to oversee examinations for various licenses. The incident occurred on May 25 during one of the theory tests when the suspect attempted to exploit an electronic headquarters system to retrieve correct answers, undermining the integrity of the testing process.

There were devices attached to the man’s body as part of the attempted cheating. The situation highlighted suspicious irritability and conduct during the test, which quickly drew attention from agents and inspectors. The man was identified and subjected to a formal check, which confirmed the presence of a mobile data receiver and transmitter hidden under clothing. A micro camera was found attached to the cuff buttonhole, capturing exam questions, while a vibration transmitter was used to deliver the exam answers via pulses.

Following the test, the fraud attempt was investigated and the individual faced formal charges. Authorities classified the conduct as a very serious violation, carrying penalties that include a substantial fine and a six-month prohibition on retaking the relevant exams. The case demonstrates a clear commitment by law enforcement and licensing authorities to uphold exam integrity and public safety in driver licensing processes.
