France Boosts Ukraine Aid with More 155 mm Shells and SAMP / T System

France is accelerating its military support for Ukraine by planning to double the supply of 155 mm NATO-caliber shells to 2,000 per month. In addition, Paris intends to deliver the SAMP / T anti-aircraft system, a sophisticated jointly developed air defense platform. The statement outlining these steps came from the French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastian Lecornu, during an interview with the French daily Le Figaro. Lecornu emphasized that the expansion will strengthen Kyiv’s artillery coverage and air defense capacity as the conflict persists across the region. This marks a notable shift in France’s ongoing defense assistance, aligning with broader European commitments to sustain Ukraine’s deterrence and resilience on the battlefield (Le Figaro).
