In Samara, the former media manager of Volzhskaya Kommuna newspaper entered a sex shop on Novo-Vokzalnaya Street and assaulted a salesperson with a blue shoehorn after the employee failed to speak English. This incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on April 7, 2023, according to coverage from a Telegram channel On Mash. The assailant demanded that the employee understand him as he spoke in English, and when the staff member could not respond in kind, the man became aggressive. He forced the worker to lie face down, shouted a demand to learn English, and repeatedly struck the employee with the shoehorn before leaving the store in a hasty manner.

The victim managed to escape during the ordeal. The perpetrator subsequently purchased several laptops and departed from the shop.
