The delayed arrival of essential components for vehicle production affected the Valencia plant operated by Ford in Almussafes. Following this morning’s Monitoring Committee meeting, the multinational announced adjustments to the production schedule, canceling certain detentions for three days on the calendar. On the one hand, adjustments apply to the scheduled measures in vehicle operations on Friday, October 7, and, on the other hand, to the mechanical engine lines on October 15 and 16.

Like much of the global automotive sector, Ford faces material shortages that constrain output. As a result, the Valencia site has been reducing Erlte days since July, aligning with the broader industry pattern of pauses to manage scarce resources and ensure safety and quality during production slowdowns.

This adjustment at the factory file is not the only change on the horizon. In vehicle operations, Ford has also decided to push back the detentions originally planned for the 11th to October 18.

Similarly, in engine operations, the shutdowns scheduled for Friday and Monday, October 17, are now moved to Monday and Tuesday, October 10 and 11. This shift creates a bridge between the holidays on October 9 and 12, smoothing production scheduling amid the material constraints.

In related actions, Ford in North America also postponed Erte-related activities over the same weekend to October 10 and 11, according to a statement from the UGT-Ford union. The union notes that the majority of the Valencia plant workforce will be affected from 06:00 on Monday to 06:00 on Wednesday, impacting all processing lines except the Block and Steel sections. The adjustment reflects the coordination between site leadership, workers, and union representatives to balance throughput with the ongoing supply challenges and labor planning needs.
