A major criminal investigation conducted by Spanish police led to the arrest of five individuals in the Community of Madrid, including a minor, on suspicion of possessing more than 1,300 child sexual abuse files, some of which were highly disturbing in nature. The operation unfolded after police intelligence identified a possible exchange of abusive material among several internet users.
Investigators performed four search warrants in Getafe, Valdemoro, and Alcorcón, where they located the suspects. The information was released by the Madrid Police Headquarters, which oversees law enforcement operations in the region.
The inquiry began in September 2022, when officers learned of exchanges of child pornography content between multiple online actors. Through digital forensics and tracing online activity, authorities tracked the movements of the suspects to the residences from which the downloads were carried out, during which five mobile phones and a laptop were seized.
According to the investigators, these devices stored more than 1,300 audiovisual files showing minors in explicitly pornographic scenarios, some with an even higher degree of sensitivity.
As a result of the operation, five individuals were arrested and later brought before the courts. They now face charges related to prostitution and the corruption of minors, with the case proceeding through the judicial system as authorities continue to pursue accountability and protect vulnerable victims.
