Firefighters endured more than seven hours of intense work to battle a blaze that erupted at a pallet factory in Alicante. The incident was reported at dawn and quickly drew attention from security authorities who confirmed the fire’s location and initial details.
Four fire crews, alongside four additional units from the Fire Prevention, Extinguishing and Rescue Service (SPEIS) within the Provincial Fire Department, were mobilized to control the incident. Local police from Alicante also dispatched four patrols to the scene to aid in security and traffic management during the emergency response.
Emergency services received the alert around three o’clock in the morning, triggering a rapid response that brought multiple emergency responders to the pallet manufacturing site. The primary location under focus was a pallet production facility situated on Bacarote Road, approximately 300 meters from the junction with the Ocaña highway, near the port area of the city.
As the flames took hold of wooden pallets, several particularly dramatic calls were made by witnesses and officials. Precautionary measures included mobilizing fifteen trucks from an adjacent plot to ensure that the fire did not threaten nearby properties or fuel sources.
Fire crews remained vigilance on the scene into the morning, dedicating themselves to containing the fire and preventing its spread. After more than seven hours of sustained effort, the fire was brought under control and declared extinguished at the scene. There were no reported injuries or casualties, and authorities emphasized that the incident concluded without personal damage to residents or responders.
Officials from the Security Ministry acknowledged the comprehensive collaboration between municipal and regional emergency services, underscoring the effectiveness of cross-agency coordination in managing such industrial fires. The incident continues to be reviewed by investigators to determine its exact cause and to assess any potential implications for local safety protocols and pallet manufacturing operations.
