After a long run of emotion, competition, and adrenaline, the Ferrari Velas eSport Series reaches its peak on October 2. The 2022 edition of the famed virtual motorsports competition moves to Italy, promising to determine not only the overall champion but also the new signature rider of the Scuderia Ferrari Velas eSports team for the next season worldwide.

End of tough competition

Following a demanding activity schedule, six aspiring eSports stars earned a shot at the finals in Italy. One rider will outpace the rest, be crowned champion, and earn the opportunity to represent Ferrari on a global stage next season as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Velas eSports squad. The three qualifying European drivers and three participants from North America, where the series debuted, will face a rigorous set of tests at Maranello and at the Ferrari eSport Studio in Italy, with a variety of challenges and competitions during the final event.

The six finalists began their journey in April to secure a spot in the October 2 stage, with a hotlap classification that demanded times among the fastest as they battled thousands of competitors. Through regional qualifiers and a sequence of autonomous eight-race events per region for Europe and North America, the final standings determined who advanced to the regional finals.

After qualifying, drivers from Europe and North America advanced to their respective regional finals, where a double-championship format reduced the field to the top 24, and then to the top three in each region. These six riders—three from Europe and three from North America—became the official finalists.

The final phase features a series of tests and competitions crafted to showcase each participant’s abilities under the supervision of a discerning panel. The jury comprises a Ferrari Driver Academy member and FIA Formula 3 driver Arthur Leclerc, Tiziana Mecozzi, manager of Ferrari Esports, and Kamil Pawlowski, winner of the 2021 Series. During the final, the judges will assess both overall race conduct and skill test performance, with points added to the overall standings after a decisive final race to crown the 2022 champion. The Grand Final can be watched live, streamed on Ferrari Esports Twitch on October 2 at 9 PM.
