Fempa marks 45 years of metal industry leadership in Alicante

The Alicante State Metal Entrepreneurs Federation, known as Fempa, marked a landmark moment this Wednesday by commemorating its 45th anniversary. Founded in 1977, the organization signed its charter at a pivotal period for regional democracy and industrial cohesion in Alicante, the Valencian Community, and beyond. The anniversary serves as a reflection on decades of collective effort to strengthen the metal sector and to advance shared interests across the province.

Over the last 45 years, Fempa has consistently prioritized service to the metal industry within the Province of Alicante and the larger Valencian Community. The federation’s work has focused on policy advocacy, industry standards, professional training, and creating a collaborative network that helps member companies grow while reinforcing the sector’s reputation and resilience in changing economic circumstances.

In a moving moment during the celebration, Fempa presented its emblematic gold medal to five individuals recognized for their steadfast loyalty to the federation and for making enduring contributions to the development and progress of the metal industry in Alicante. The recipients were Guillermo Moreno García, Luis González Lledó, Jorge Ibáñez Andreu, Paco Cabrera Roselló, and Áónpegel Asensio L. The tribute honored their dedication and the impact of their efforts on the local metal community, especially in mentoring newer members and driving industry-wide collaboration. The recognition extended beyond mere acknowledgment, serving as a public commitment to ongoing leadership within the sector.

Among the attendees were prominent figures who shape regional economic policy and business collaboration. Carlos Mazón, the president of the Alicante Provincial Council, participated in the event, alongside Salvador Navarro, president of the Valencian Business Confederation. Their presence underscored the federation’s role in aligning private enterprise interests with regional governance initiatives, promoting sustainable growth, workforce development, and innovation across the metal landscape.

In addition to the anniversary rites, Fempa conducted its annual meeting during the same program, combining ceremonial honors with strategic discussions aimed at guiding the federation’s agenda for the coming year. The gathering highlighted ongoing priority areas such as industry safety standards, environmental responsibility, digital modernization, and workforce training, all aimed at maintaining Alicante’s competitiveness in a dynamic market. The meeting also provided a platform for members to exchange best practices and to reaffirm commitments to collective action that benefits both the local economy and the broader Valencian community.
