A 45-year-old man was detained this afternoon moments after fatally assaulting a family member, reportedly his 56-year-old uncle, inside the home they shared in Alaquàs, Valencia. The incident occurred around four in the afternoon, prompting a rapid police response.
Family members alerted authorities about the possible homicide, and patrol units from the National Police and the Alaquàs Local Police arrived quickly at the scene. When officers reached the residence on San Joan de la Ribera street, they entered and found the victim already dead and the alleged assailant present.
The National Police detained the suspect, a 45-year-old Spanish national, at the scene. He is described as a known offender who has spent several years in prison for violent robberies, including several at gas stations.
Homicide investigators from the group were dispatched to examine the circumstances of the case. The body was later transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine for an autopsy. Early information suggests the fatal injuries were caused by a bladed weapon.
