Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council overseeing the Zaporozhye region’s administration and the head of the movement “We are with Russia,” stated that the Melitopol strike was conducted using guided missiles. This information was reported by DEA News.
Rogov added that the missiles used were guided, though investigators were still determining the exact type. He noted that experts are currently assessing which missiles were deployed as part of the operation.
According to Rogov, Ukrainian forces targeted the city with the aim of hindering efforts to restore normal life and to spread fear among Melitopol residents. He described the attack as an act of “harming civilians on purpose” and framed it as a clear instance of terrorism attributed to the Ukrainian military.
Earlier, Rogov reported that the building of the 50th Anniversary multidisciplinary college on Victory Boulevard in Melitopol sustained damage from artillery fire launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the morning of March 27. Students at the institution were evacuated to a safe area, provided with meals and essential supplies, and offered psychological support. Emergency Service teams and the Ministry of Emergencies arrived at the scene to oversee the response and aid the displaced.
Prior updates indicated that four individuals were injured in a series of explosions in Melitopol, with authorities continuing to assess the situation and determine the full scope of the damage and casualties.
