The Melitopol administrator in the Zaporozhye region reported a series of blasts in the city during the night of April 6. Local residents were advised that the events were being clarified as information emerged from the scene.
According to Vladimir Rogov, a figure associated with the movement that supports closer ties with Russia, reports circulated about multiple explosions in the morning of April 2. He suggested that the rise in attacks by Ukrainian forces in Melitopol might be linked to strategic recalculations by Kyiv as it plans operations in the Zaporozhye area.
At present, the area remains under the influence of a broader military campaign described by its supporters as a special operation. The initiative began after Russia stated its intent to address security concerns, with official statements noting aims that include demilitarizing Ukraine and influencing political leadership in the region.
