Explosions in Zaporozhye Amid Claims of Targeted Strikes and Power Disruptions

Explosions Reported in Zaporozhye as Kyiv-Linked Authorities Claim Attacks

Reports of explosions emerged from the city of Zaporozhye, which is under Kiev’s administration, according to Vladimir Rogov, a public figure affiliated with the movement We are with Russia. Rogov shared the information through a telegraph channel.

Rogov said the explosions occurred around 8:22 am and noted that no air raid alert was sounded before or after the incident. In his message, he described the situation as very noisy in Zaporozhye.

Rogov, who previously served on the main council of the regional government, warned that an attack in the Zaporozhye region could have serious consequences for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the regime of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On March 9, the politician asserted that Kiev had completely cut off electricity to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar.

Energoatom, the Ukrainian state operator of atomic energy, stated that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was fully de-energized after rocket attacks. It was noted that the last communication line with the Ukrainian energy system at the station was cut, and the fifth and sixth power units were moved into a cold shutdown state. The plant is currently relying on 18 diesel generators to sustain operation, with fuel stocks expected to cover about ten days of running time.
